I'll update this from time to time:
pido
tnx for this informative thread... three thumbs up!! ^^

me a guitarist as well, also playing bass and drums, but me main is keyboards, particularly chord playing...

might be interested if you'll include very easy drum lessons, since i'm learning me drums on me own intuitive skill.. ^^
BlueOnion
Ic.. thats good to hear Pido...

pero advice ko sayo if you want to start on drums.. best way is to study the rudiments first

andyan yun sa binigay kong link.

A drum pad and a good set of drumstrick are also recommended para maaaral mo ng maayos yung mga technique
like the Double Strokes and Paradiddles.

I can teach you how to read Drum Notation.. medyo malilito ka kung wala ka pang set na sarili kahit mumurahin lang :)

So for now... study the rudiments provided by vic firth :)
pido
haha.. tnx for the friendly advise..

i do have me own kit here but as the price suggests (bought it for about 14K.. ^^), i can't learn that much
since i'm not comfortable with the set-up...

and the like.. ^^)..

so what i actually need is some improvisation... and as you suggest, i badly need
to learn this so called drum notation... ^^
BlueOnion
Yun.. ayus

So ganto... kailangan mo parin talaga daanan ang rudiments... Maraming video nito sa Youtube

http://www.vicfirth.com/education/rudiments.html
After mong makita yung 40 Rudiments, just search youtube "Drum Rudiment #no"

then kapag kahit papaano marami ka ng naaral.

Paanoorin mo tong mga artist na to para makapickup ka pa ng ibaibang styles and kung paano nila iinaapply ang rudiments sa drum playing:

Dave Weckl <-- one of the best sa Drum Improvisation
Vinnie Colaiuta
Mike Mangini <-- fastest drummer
Neil Peart <-- Drummer of "RUSH" isa sa nagdevelop ng Progressive Rock style
Virgil Donati <-- drummer ng Planet X and sessionist ni Steve Vai, one of the best sa polyrhythms
Mike Portnoy <-- ofcourse isa pang master ng Progressive Rock, the drummer of dream theater
Dennis Chambers <-- Fusion style drummer din at the best ang grove
Steve Smith <-- another fusion drummer :) kaling kamay nito

http://rapidshare.com/files/71735256/Sight...rk_Phillips.pdf

Also.. don't forget to use metronome everytime you practise :)

BlueOnion
Good...

I handle Musical Theories :)

Especially kung Guitar dahil yung ang main instrument ko... and trust me NO KIDS STUFF here! hehehe

Are you sure your rapidshare links aren't copyrighted material?

Anyway, some more drum lessons:

Leonne
Hi guys!

As for the TS, yes, posting copyrighted stuffs (like the complete 10 volumes of the Suzuki Violin School) is illegal. People in the Philippines tolerate this piracy. Sadly, that's not the case here in FlyFF boards where we strictly implement the rules.

I really like the intention of this thread. That's why it'll be sad to just close it down. So if BlueOnion is still willing to continue with this thread, I suggest you edit your posts and only put things which are legit (like online free tutorial, stuff.)

Cheers! love.gif
Flyff Is FUN!
ahm, pahingi naman ng guitar lesson websites ^^

salamat

Fretboard Memorization by BlueOnion
Required if you want to learn how to construct 1000 chords instead of memorizing just the shape

===================

Just Memorize the 2 position and its shape.

This is written in the Key Of C or the much familiar DO RE MI FA SOL LA TI DO!
Bakit C D E F G A B C lang andyan? para di ka maconfuse sa mga sharps and flats (the other 5)

So How will you learn to memorize the fretboard using the illustration:

1. Focus only on the shaded notes.. then try to play it.. in OCTAVES..

The repeating notes are E, F, B & C

2. In the key of C there are 7 notes: C D E F G A B C.. and congratulations! you're already playing 4 of them: B C E F

Next Step..

3. Remember the location of the notes B,C,E & F horizontally at: 0 to 8 fret and 7 to 13 fret

for example:
notes E & F are the 0 and 1st fret of the 6th string
notes B & C are on the 7th and 8th fret of the 6th string
an octave higher of E & F are on the 12th and 13th fret of the 6th string

do the same on all string

4. So How many shape do you need to memorize?
you only have to memorize 2 positions in the fretboard to figure out the location of E F B C, isn't that easy?

5. Why do you have to memorize E, F, B & C ?
Notice that E to F is half-step, B to C is also a half-step. Because of these half-steps the arrangement of the
notes become harder to play.

6. So what's next? How do we memorize all the other notes?

If you know where B and C is, you can easily access the note D (a whole step above it.. see illustration 1).
also notice that a whole-step down from E F is still D.

So the Note D is between B, C and E, F

So? you already 5 notes out of 12... 7 more to go

7. And how about G and A?
Notice that a wholestep up from E F is G, a wholestep down from B C is A.
and A to G is also whole step

all in all they form 3 whole steps! easy!

Once you get used to seeing the distance between these notes.. it will be all easy

you already know where the 7 notes are! great! 5 more?

8. So that's all? how about the flats and sharps ?

what if someone ask you the fret of the note F# on the 3rd string?
you only need to think of the note F.... remember the Location of E F on the 3rd string :)?
then move half-step up to sharp the note

Sharp( # ) = move halfstep up from the natural note
Flats( b) = move halfstep down

REMEMBER if you've memorize the 7 Notes.. getting the other 5 will be a lot easier

----

More Lessons to come!

@ILLUMINATI

nako.. di pa ako nakagamit nyan.. and mahirap maghanap nyan

siguro much better is aralin mo yung 6-hole, 7-hole, and 8 hole

atleast alamin mo kung anong notes nyang 4 holes na yan.. then go back here and post the notes.

Then tignan natin kung paano mo pwede tugtugin :)
pido
cheers for blue onion!! hehehe ^^

the illustration really helps, i can attest to that personally... that's exactly
the same method i'm using on memorizing the different fret assignments...

Ito muna mamasterin natin ha :) Then saka tayo mag chord theory

MAJOR SCALE and the Circle Of Fifth by me
--------
PRE-REQ: Basic Knowledge In Fretboard Notes, Piano Notes

---------------------------------------------------------------------

bait pag binalibaliktad mo yan..

---------------------------------------------------
I. The 12 notes on the guitar (Chromatic Scale)
---------------------------------------------------
A - A#/Bb - B - C - C#/Db - D - D#/Eb - E - F - F#/Gb - G - G#/Ab

Next.. THE HARD WAY syempre kaunting idea muna

================================================================================

==========================
II. Using the 12 notes of the chromatic scale... 12 major and 12 minor scales can be formed
================================================================================

==========================
Interval Basic: (use the chromatic scale reference above)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

a. Tone = Whole step

ex:
A to B, C to D, Bb to C, F# to G#, etc etc

*** Subukan nyong tugtugin

b. Semitone = Half step

ex:
A to Bb, A to A#, B to C, D to Eb, etc etc

*** ito din try nyo

----------------------------------------------------
O diba ang saya.. next!

================================================================================

=====
Major Scale
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Forming a Major scale using the intervals
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a. Major scale - most songs today are written only in 1 key or using only 1 major scale.
On the otherhand, Jazz uses different keys to explore other tonality.

* remember this simple formula:

Tone - Tone - Semitone - Tone - Tone - Tone - Semitone or Whole Whole Half Whole Whole WHole Half

or simple...

W W H W W W H

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
using the Interval above will allow you to form a 7 note scale.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I <Whole> II <Whole> III <Half> IV <Whole> V <Whole> VI <Whole> VII <Half> I

*** If the 1st/root note/ is C the scale is called C major scale or if it is G the scale
is called G major scale

example:

C Major Scale

C <Whole> D <Whole> E <Half> F <Whole> G <Whole> A <Whole> B <Half> C
or
C - D - E - F - G - A - B - C

G Major Scale

G - A - B - C - D - E - F# - G

*** some tip: to figure out the key of a song... find the two half steps and match it to
the melody of the song.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
================================================================================

==========================
Cycle of Fifts/Circle Of fourths counterclockwise!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ipapakilal ko sainyo si BEA!!

*** in order to memorize all the 12 major scale Cycle Of Fifths is used. Just by counting the number of sharps and flat, you can easily access all the keys.

--------------------------------
Memorizing using the hardway
--------------------------------
No Sharp/Flats:
C D E F G A B C <-- C Major Scale

With Flats:
F G A Bb C D E F <-- 1 flat - Bb
Bb C D Eb F G A Bb <-- 2 - Bb Eb
Eb F G Ab Bb C D Eb <-- 3 - Bb Eb Ab
Ab Bb C Db Eb F G Ab <-- 4 - Bb Eb Ab Db
Db Eb F Gb Ab Bb C Db <-- 5 - Bb Eb Ab Db
Gb Ab Bb Cb Db Eb F Gb <-- 6 - Bb Eb Ab Db Gb
Cb Db Eb Fb Gb Ab Bb Cb <-- 7 - all flats!

*** tip: notice that flats are added using this sequence of notes, Bb Eb Ab Db Gb Cb Fb
*** or Battle Ends And Down Goes Charles Father.... or just simple B E A D G!

With Sharps:
G A B C D E F# G <-- 1 sharp - F#
D E F# G A B C# D <-- 2 sharps - F# C#
A B C# D E F# G# A <-- 3 sharps - F# C# G#
E F# G# A B C# D# E <-- 4 sharps - F# C# G# D#
B C# D# E F# G# A# B <-- 5 sharps - F# C# G# D# A#
F# G# A# B C# D# E# F# <-- 6 sharps, notice some note(s) are enharmonic and considerably correct
C# D# E# F# G# A# B# C# <-- 7 sharps, notice some notes are enharmonic and considerably correct

*** tip: notice that sharps are added using this sequence of notes, F# C# G# D# A# E# B#
*** or Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle....

--------------------------------
Memorizing using the tricky way
--------------------------------

Meet B E A again!

remember this:
when counting flats think "B E A - D G - C F"
when counting sharps think "F C - G D - A E B" <-- kabaliktaran lang ng B E A D G C F

All the 12 keys or major scale: C F - Bb Eb Ab Db Gb - B E A D G <-- its BEA-DG again!

or

C = 0
F = 1 flat

Bb = 2 flats
Eb = 3 flats
Ab = 4 flats
Db = 5 flats
Gb = 6 flats

B = 5 sharps
E = 4 sharps
A = 3 sharps
D = 2 sharps
G = 1 sharp

or much easier

C F and Bb Eb Ab Db Gb and B E A D G

*** notice that it reads "C F + Bb Eb Ab Db Gb + B E A D G"
Snape Kills Dumbledore
Glad that copyright stuff's all sorted out. Time to start learning.
Flyff Is FUN!

BlueOnion
@Forumer/Gamer

ok atleast alam ko na san magsisimula sayo.. first things first...

I want you to memorize the notes of the KEY OF C (C major scale) on
the open position(0-3rd fret) your Guitar:

Use this illustration to figure out the location of the notes if you haven't master my Lesson About Fretboard Memorization:

Play the notes C D E F G A B C starting from the Low E on the 6th(yan yung pinakamakapal..bass) string up to G above middle C on the 3rd fret of the 1st string. Play the notes ascending and descending hanggang sa maging comfortable ka. Say the notes while you play it and while you're looking at your fretboard.

--
Then go to http://www.musictheory.net/ and study Staff. Learn the notes of the Treble Clef (G-clef). Then study the lesson about Note Duration. Kung medyo naguguluhan ka sa lesson nila.. you can always ask me kung ano ang magulo sayo.

Then Try to play this piece: (nilagyan ko ng RED arrow yung Middle C (3rd fret on the 5th string) para alam mo kung saan ang starting point mo. Kung nalilito ka dito.. sabihin mo lang. Next time kita turuan ng strumming :)

I'm going to reiterate what I said in my previous post: no copyrighted material under any circumstance. If you want one, buy one.

Whatever the intention of posting such, be it educational, I don't care. Hell, even pirated versions of nursing board exam reviewers are confiscated. Again, for whatever reason, it's still illegal. Yes, there's a possibility of a legal implication. The sad part here is that the company (LU!) will take the blows while we are all in the comforts of our home learning how to tune our little guitars and play our first strokes in the piano.

I let you slip the first time but I won't be forgiving the next. love.gif

Actually mas maganda sya kung gagamitin mo pang practise ng Major Scales (all 12 keys)

let's say 3 notes per string exercise.. para atleast naririnig mo yung Notes.. :)

Bukas bibigay ako ng method for that... For now practise ka ng maiigi and as much as possible parang maging 2nd
nature mo yung pinapractise mo.. Tipong kahit di ka nakatingin or nanonood ka lang ng TV.. that way alam mong kaya mo syang gawin anytime you want.

- MODES -
by me

* learn this if you want to create a powerful composition

Maaring sabihin nyo "huh? paano?"

Ang bawat MODE ng isang scale ay nageexpress ng emotions.. so ang primary way para tugtugin ang emotions na to ay by playing the CHORDS of the given key or major scale

Halimbawa ang isang kanta ay nakasulat sa iisang key lang or yung melody nito ay umiikot lang sa iisang key like:

KEY OF C (maaring ito ay Twinkle twinkle little star, pwede ding Happy Birthday)

ang mga notes ng Key of C ay:

C D E F G A B C

C D E F G A B C

1 3 5 = Major chord

1 3 5 7 = Maj7

1 b3 5 b7 = Min7

---------------------
Now sa isang Major Scale meron tayong 7 notes na pwedeng gawing root aside from the main root (in the key of C root is C)

1st (Ionian) mode is C = C D E F G A B <-- dito pag kinuha ang 1 3 5 7 ay magiging CM7
2nd (Dorian) mode is D = D E F G A B C <-- dito naman ay magiging Dm7
3rd (Phrygian) mode is E = E F G A B C D <-- Em7
4th (Lydian) mode is F = F G A B C D E <-- FM7
5th (Mixolydian) mode is G = G A B C D E F <-- G7
6th (Aeolian) mode is A = A B C D E F G <-- Am7
7th (Locrian) mode is B = B C D E F G A <-- Bm7b5

so pwede na natin tugtugin ang mode ng isang key by using this formula:
IM7 - IIm7 - IIIm7 - IVM7 - V7 - VIm7 - VIIm7b5

--------------------------------

Simple.. just play the Key...

halimbawa in the Key of G = GM7 Am7 Bm7 CM7 D7 Em7 F#m7b5

pag gumawa tayo ng chord progression na: I VI II V

magkakaroon tayo ng: GM7 Em7 Am7 D7

Kahit G major scale lang ang tugtugin mo dyan ok na.. as long as may tumutugtog na ng chords.. <-- yun ay kung mag solo ka

G Mixolydian = GM7 = G B D F + G major scale
E Aeolian = Em7 = E G B D + G major scale
A Dorian = Am7 = A C E G + G major scale
D Mixolydian = D7 = D F# A C + G major scale

Di mo na kailangan isipin na pag D Mixolydian kailangan tugtugin mo yung Pattern ng D mixolydian. no no no

Kahit tugtugin mo ang II mode ng key of G (A dorian = A B C D E F# G), kung ang chords mo naman ay Em7

E Aeolian pa din ang mode mo. Paano?

E Aeolian = E F# G A B C D E
Em7 = E G B D
A Dorian = A B C D E F# G

Em7 + A dorian:

E G B D + A B C D E F# G = E F# G A B C D E (E Aeolian) <-- so ang nasunod pa din yung chords

---------------
Comparing Mode to a Major Scale:
D dorian & D major scale:

D dorian = D E F G A B C D E
D major scale = D E F# G A B C# D <-- in dorian 3rd and 7th become flat

Formula for dorian:
1 2 b3 4 5 6 b7 1

Complete list of Modes:

I = IONIAN MODE = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1 >>>> possible chord: M7, add9, sus4 etc
II = Dorian Mode = 1 2 b3 4 5 6 b7 1 >>>> m7, m9, add9 etc
III = Phrygian Mode = 1 2b b3 4 5 b6 b7 1 >>>> m7 , m7b6, dom7b9 (substitute for m7b9)
IV = Lydian Mode = 1 2 3 #4 5 6 7 1 >>>> M7#11
V = Mixolydian Mode = 1 2 3 4 5 6 b7 >>>> dom7, dom9, dom7sus4, dom13
VI = Aeolian Mode = 1 2 3b 4 5 6b 7b 1 >>>> m7b6 or m7b13
VII = Locrian Mode = 1 b2 b3 4 b5 b6 b7 1 >>>> m7b5

To everyone: Using my CHORDS GALORE lesson will enable you to apply the modes/chords easily.

Just think this way, Chords in a song are the harmony extracted from MODES of any Major Scale.
Kung ang melody ng isang kanta ay made using a particular Major Scale.. then the chords
will most likely be from that same scale... and each chord will represent the mode of the Major Scale:

Thanx! H-Rocks....

Syempre as much as possible gusto ko makatulong sa mga musicians dito especially those aspiring one :).

I will also need some help from other musician who can share their knowledge about music. It doesn't need to be perfect but as long as it is a good method to learn more about music it'll be acceptable here. :)

Ah ic... I suggest you... start from level 0 technical exercises again...

So the best thing you could do is plan a practise session kung saan itatarget natin ang weaknesses ng fingers mo instead of practicing random exercises. This way mas mababawas yung time mo para gumaling ulit.

just add me sa YM: blueonion21@yahoo.com

ok TS. wala talaga kasi ako time ngaun masyado magrefresh ulit ng guitar playing coz of work and other stuffs. hindi nga makapag.flyff e hahaha! usually if may free time man pag weekend itinutulog ko na lang sparkle.gif anyways ill add you up na lang sa ym. thanks sir laugh.gif

Wow! Gusto ko matuto mag violin. ridicule.gif
BlueOnion
Shintaroh....

http://violinmasterclass.com/home.php?site_language=english

The first thing you must learn is how to stroke a BOW.. so as a beginner pwede ka magresearch about bowing techniques..

Then go to 4shared.com and find some Suzuki Violin Method (pdf format). If you can finish those method.. some how marami ka ng natutunan.

Remember for now.. your goal is to master Bowing Techniques before you proceed to fingerings or left hand techniques :)

may pattern a b etc?

at panu po ba maging accurate ung strumming?

Usually yung pattern is a short riff na uulit ulitin mo... depende kung saan inindicate sa pyesa or sa lyrics ng kanta

paste mo dito yung tab nung specific song na tinatanong mo :)

(1st Verse)
I met a girl named Tara
An’ She lived in the heart of America
She liked black caddies
Listened to Puff Daddy
Danced until her legs were sore
She worked around the corner
At a diner with a grouchy owner
An’ her boyfriend’s shady, he dates another girl named Katie
He loves her definitely maybe
(2nd Verse)
Don’t think I can take it
Wake me when it’s over
seems So far away
I wish that it was closer
I see you every day
I’m too scared to go over
I wonder what she’d say
I barely even know her
Chorus:
And how much longer
Will this keep getting stronger
I wonder what she’s doing when I’m singing myself to sleep
Cause he’s a faker
So see ya later
I wonder when you’ll realize that she means a lot more to me
(3rd Verse)
I saw you in the hallway when my last class was just over
It was Friday, school was out tonight
Everything seems to be all right
I said,”Yo, are you going to the party at The Cove?”
She said,”He’s picking me up six again
An’ I don’t wanna disappoint my boyfriend.”
Chorus
(4th Verse)
And she’s staring at his picture hanging in her locker
She’s telling all the girls about all the things that he bought her
I saw what really happened all those times he went for water
When we were at the movie theater watching Harry Potter
He had his hands on
Every single girl he laid his eyes on
Hate to break it to you, hes a pylon
And even when he kissed her
He was looking over, staring at her sister
Chorus

nway..

Pattern A:
ung pattern A mo naman plucked sya or arpeggiated notes na Bass Note lang ang nagbabago...

So the chords will be: Emaj - AM7 - Emaj - F#m

Patterns B to D:

.. i-think these was meant to be played for the parts the uses these chords: E B C#m A

kung mapapansin mo all of those Patterns use the same chords.. iba iba lang ang voicing ng chords.

Pattern E:
E5 B5 E5 A5 E5 B5 F#5 B5 <-- full chord: Emaj Bmaj Emaj Amaj Emaj Bmaj F#m Bmaj

E5 A5 E5 B5 E5 A5 F#5 B5 <-- full chord: Emaj Amaj Emaj Bmaj Emaj Amaj F#m Bmaj

Pattern F-G:

Similar sila medyo nagbago lang ang rhythm ng kaunti pero both are for E - A - C#m - B chord progression.

---
So what to do?

So bali ganto.. dahil di nakaspecify sa mismong piece mo (lyrics) kung san mo gagamitin yung Pattern.....t@ng@ yung gumawa hehehe honestly.... Kung ako gagawa nito di ganto hahhahaha

So.. ikaw na mag fix.. use your ear. Buuin mo muna yung kanta as it is then find those chord mentioned on the pattern.

To tell you honestly i don't rely on website who gives Chords.. most of them are wrong about 60% are inaccurate. Best way talaga is ikaw mismo kumapa. Well to use them as a guide will be benificial... pero syempre gamitin mo pa din ang tenga mo.
Ponn~
I really appreciate tlga ung pag sagot mo po :D
Pahinga klang ng pahinga para the next time
sagot namn ng sagot :D

Amaj anu po ung aj
tsaka what do you mean by full chord?

Ok lng nmn po un kac free namn
tsaka may vid pa. hehe

d ko po alam ung seprah ba un?
sabi daw nila family chords nalilito ako.

Thanks uli papi
BlueOnion
maj means Major
min means minor :)

"d ko po alam ung seprah ba un?"

regarding sa term na yun usually ginagamit yan pag sinabing kakapain yung song by EAR....

I usually use "Transcribe" or "to transcribe"

About sa family chords:

Medyo inde yan common topic sa mga first timer...

Pero yan yung CHORDS from a MAJOR SCALE... or CHORDS THAT BELONG TO A CERTAIN KEY.

For Example sa MAJOR SCALE meron kang 7 modes and for each mode meron kang maform na Harmony:

C D E F G A B C or DO RE MI FA SOL LA TI DO <-- C MAJOR SCALE

I MODE: C D E F G A B C = Cmaj7
II MODE: D E F G A B C D = Dm7
III MODE: E F G A B C D E = Em7
IV: F G A B C D E F = FM7
V: G A B C D E F G = G7
VI: A B C D E F G A = Am7
VII: B C D E F G A B = Bm7b5

---

So I suggest dito mo na aralin yun kung may interisado kang aralin ang sinasabi nilang FAMILY CHORDS :)

@Ponn~

EHeroReboy
Thnx po.
In the end nahulog din sa minsan at maselang bahaghari
ang kakantahin
BlueOnion
Hahaha ganun ba.. :)

Keep on playing and exploring... marami ka pang matutunan as long as di ka tumitigil. :)

BlueOnion
Kahit itong mga artist na to for now:

Acoustic/Clean Guitar Artist:
Dave Matthews Band
John Mayer
John Butler
Michael Hedges
Tommy Emmanuel

Ponn~
Wala akong nakilala jan.

try mo mag search sa Yahoo ng "Guitar Virtouso" or "Top 10 Guitar Shredder" or "Best Fusion Guitarist"
